Recognition Societies
The President’s Circle was established by President and Mrs. Barry M. Buxton to recognize generous alumni and friends who support their revitalization vision for Lees-McRae College. President’s Circle members are asked to provide and ask others to provide resources of time, leadership, and financial support needed to elevate Lees-McRae College.
The future of Lees-McRae College lies in the belief that this academic community is worthy of significant personal investment. As a member of the President’s Circle you will help set the standard for charitable giving in our community, and, by example, serve as an advocate and ambassador for the College.
With an annual contribution of $1,000 or more within the College’s fiscal year (June 1 – May 31), you will join this exclusive group of supporters. Among the privileges associated with membership are:
- Special invitations to President’s Circle events and campus programs
- Reserved parking, seating, and special recognition at campus events
- Subscription to the biannual President’s Circe Newsletter
- Recognition in the annual Honor Roll of Donors

The Edgar Tufts Society Annual Contributions of $50,000 and above
The Trustees Society Annual Contributions of $25,000 to $49,999
The W. C. Tate Society Annual Contributions of $10,000 to $24,999
The S. P. Lees SocietyAnnual Contributions of $5,000 to $9,999
The Green and Gold Society Annual Contributions of $2,500 to $4,999
The Elizabeth McRae Society Annual Contributions of $1,000 to $2,499

Order of the Sacred Flame
Membership in the order of the Sacred Flame is conferred upon those individuals who have provided for the future of Lees-McRae College in their estate plans.
These estate provisions may be accomplished in a variety of ways: a charitable bequest through one's will, a life income plan such as a Charitable Gift Annuity, a Charitable Remainder Trust, a life insurance policy, or by another suitable plan formulated by you and your financial advisor, coordinated through Lees-McRae’s Office of Advancement.
