Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach  

Lees-McRae College has an opening for a full-time Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach.

Duties:  The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the Men’s Lacrosse program, including recruitment of qualified student-athletes; practice and game preparation; budget management and fund-raising; scheduling; and the overall administration of a Division II Men’s Lacrosse program in accordance with Conference Carolinas, Lees-McRae College and NCAA rules and regulations.  

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree and previous college coaching experience preferred, as well as, multiple years of teaching/instructional/recruiting/playing or coaching. Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

Lees-McRae College (NCAA Division II), member of the Conference Carolina, invites applications and nominations for the full-time, 10-month position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.

 Qualifications: Bachelors Degree preferred; previous collegiate athletics, AAU, high school, intercollegiate athletics experience as a basketball student-athlete or coach; multiple years of teaching/instructional/recruiting/playing or coaching preferred.

Responsibilities:  The position requires a commitment to the recruitment and development of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes as well as the student-athletes’ academic progress and degree completion.  The successful candidate will assist with the coordination of practices, travel arrangements, coordination of recruiting efforts, game-management, individual skill development, fund-raising/public relations activities, game preparation and scouting as well as other duties assigned by the head coach. Director of Career Services  

Lees-McRae College seeks applicants for the position of Director of Career Services.  This position is responsible for the planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of career services programs that focus on student needs. The individual will work with academic divisions to conduct programs and bring in speakers to meet the specific career needs of students; develop, implement and evaluate campus wide career programs including the study-abroad fair, graduate school fair, leadership retreat, career symposium and formal dinner and fashion show; conduct individual appointments with students including career explorations, personality type testing, skills/interests inventories, resume and cover letter assistance and other services as needed; contact and bring business representatives to campus to meet with and interview students; maintain and update regularly social media accounts including Facebook account for career services; maintain and publicize internship opportunities; as well as additional identified needs.

Wildlife Veterinarian

 

The Department of Biology at Lees-McRae College has a full-time, permanent position for a wildlife veterinarian, beginning in August 2013.

Job description: Duties include teaching courses for wildlife rehabilitation and pre-veterinarian students in Lees-McRae distinctive Wildlife Biology program, as well as helping to manage and operate the May Rehabilitation Center year-round.

Network Engineer

Lees-McRae College seeks applicants for the position of full-time Network Engineer.

Experience: Using Microsoft Windows Deployment Server or Acronis for imaging; Using Barracuda Spam Filter, firewalls, LDAP authentication, group policy, domain controllers, active directory, DHCP Servers and DNS, and configuring back-up controllers and servers to be online or ready; Operating Exchange Server and migrating to Google for Education, Gmail and Cloud storage (preferred but not required); Using script-based batch account creation program; Installing and supporting all current Windows OS and Windows Server, as well as Mac OS software; Troubleshooting and resolving network, computer and software problems 

 Qualifications:  Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in a technology/computer science or closely related field is required. Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions with at least nine semester hours in programming (ex: Java, HTML, Lamp Stack, scripting, etc.) and at least two years of experience working in network design. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a proven track record of being able to work independently and consistently meet or exceed multiple deadlines; able to maintain an organized, well-documented work area and environment; Cisco Certified Network Analyst (CCNA) is highly preferred.

Digital Marketing Coordinator

 Dean of Students

Lees-McRae College seeks an exceptional individual to serve as its Dean of Students.  Under direction of the President, the Dean is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment and culture that synthesizes the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students in a holistic manner.  The Dean will oversee all Student Development personnel and functions, including Campus Life/Recreation, Counseling Services, Health Services, Student Housing, and the Student Recreation Center.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as the point person on critical incidents involving student misconduct, overseeing the student judicial process, coordinating the student handbook, managing departmental budget, ensuring compliance with federal regulations related to areas of responsibility, developing and coordinating policies and procedures relative to all student activities, providing leadership in and assuming responsibility for the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and regulations pertaining to student life.  This person is responsible for the learning and development of students outside of the classroom and serves on the President’s Cabinet.

Position Summary:

Assistant or Associate Professor within the Division of Nursing and Allied Health, specifically the Nursing Department.  The nursing professor will be a fulltime faculty member who assists the Director of Nursing in the development and continuous program quality improvement of the BSN program both on and off campus. This includes student recruitment, advising, curriculum development, program evaluation and revision, and other matters that support the mission of the College and the Division of Nursing and Allied Health.

A terminal degree in nursing from an accredited institution and coursework in education to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) requirements. A minimum of three years teaching experience. Demonstrated ability in teaching. Evidence of ability in at least one of the following: research or professional service to the college and/or the public. Willingness to participate in institutional affairs. Must hold unencumbered RN license in North Carolina or compact state. A minimum of three years’ experience in direct patient care.

Criminal Justice Assistant Professor

Adjunct Instructor-Nursing

This position is responsible for instruction of seated and online classes in the RN to BSN Program and the creation and implementation of an online version of courses within the curriculum. This position reports to the Director of the RN to BSN Program. This position has the potential to become full-time based upon expansion of Lees-McRae College’s Extended Campus BSN program.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Online Program Development:

·         Translates existing coursework for RN to BSN classes into an online format

·         Works with LMC IT Services to ensure that all courses are accessible and functional in an online format

·         Communicates with students regarding  issues and requirements for completing online classes

·         Acts as liaison between students and LMC IT staff

·         Assists other Instructors in the RN to BSN Program in developing online teaching competencies

 

Instructional Function:

·         Provides instruction for both seated and online classes as assigned by the Director of the RN to BSN Completion Program.

 

Advising Function:

·         Assists the Director of the RN to BSN Program in coordinating with the Director of Extended Campus and Registrar’s Office each semester to register extended campus students in appropriate courses

·         Assists students in understanding requirements for graduation from program

·         Returns calls and emails from students in a timely manner

·         Assists students in accessing  and utilizing WebAdvisor, NCLIVE and Sakai

 

Reporting Function:

·         Reports student grades within the prescribed time and format 

 

Key Requirements:

  • Masters or doctoral degree in nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or in the Nurse Licensure Compact with multistate practice privileges

·         Physical Education

·         Rhetoric I and II (English Composition and Public Speaking)

·         Science:  Anatomy and Physiology, Environmental Biology, Human Biology and Wildlife Biology

·         Social Science: Psychology and Sociology

·         Sport Administration  

General Responsibilities: The categories listed below constitute the expectations for the adjunct faculty member. These responsibilities will be assessed utilizing student evaluations, classroom observations by the supervisor, and the supervisor’s formative and summative evaluations. Specifically, the adjunct will 

1.     Participate in an orientation program provided by the College and/or division.

2.     Develop course syllabi according to the standards provided;

3.     Distribute and review the course syllabus in the first week of classes.

4.     Utilize current pedagogical methods that foster active and engaged learning;

5.     Remain abreast of standards and ongoing developments and practices in the assigned    

 academic program or department;

Remain abreast of developments and practices his/her professional content area(s);

6.    Follow the course or academic program standards as prescribed by the area to which he/she is assigned;

7.    Acquire materials and supplies to deliver quality instruction, and

8.    Be prompt and accurate in the recording and reporting of mid-term and final grades. 

Skills Required: Course and syllabi development, current pedagogical knowledge and practices, MS Office, cooperative and active learning strategies, writing for learning, communication skill (verbal, written and interpersonal), and problem-solving.

Minimum Degree: Ph.D. in specified field preferred. Master’s degree in specified field considered with a minimal of 18 graduate credit hours in each area taught. Educational background and work experience which meets the standards of the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges and Lees-McRae College required.
