"Fresh Tracks” is a four day and three night backpacking, rock climbing, camping, lake kayaking, and hiking trip designed to introduce incoming freshmen to the beautiful mountains surrounding the Lees-McRae College campus. New students will also have the opportunity to meet and share adventures with other incoming students and begin to build friendships before the fall orientation when they move into their residence halls.
Freshmen who are set to arrive in the fall 2013 semester will get a chance to spend time with and learn from some of our most qualified Outdoor Programs student leaders along with Dee Thomas, the director of Outdoor Programs. Each trip begins at 4:00pm after each Summer Orientation event ends.
The June 29-July 2 trip is now full. Please contact Dee Thomas at thomasd@lmc.edu if you would like to be placed on a waiting list.
We had a blast on our Fresh Tracks trips in July 2012! We added kayaking on Wildcat Lake to the 4-day trips and that was a lot of fun! We are looking forward to a day of rock climbing on August 24th, the first Saturday after LMC classes begin! ROCK ON!!!
