Director, Creative and Performing Arts Camp
Stavey Burgess Trivett, is adjunct dance faculty at Lees-McRae, where she received a B.A. in Dance and also studied Music and Education. She is an instructor at Northwestern Dance Studio in Boone, and choreographer for their award winning Northwestern Starz Competition Team. She has also taught at Watauga High School and workshops at for Avery Middle and Crossnore Schools. She teaches at local workshops and state conventions in Tap, Clogging, Ballroom, and Musical Theatre. Stacey, also the Children's Minister and Music Director at her church, hopes to pass her love for the arts on to the next generation of artists.

Mindi
Bishop, was born and raised in Miami, Florida and has been dancing for over 20 years. She was a member of the Pizazz Dance Company and the University of Miami Hurricanette Dance Line. Mindi has performed at the Jackie Gleason Theater for the Performing Arts on Miami Beach with ABT principles in “The Nutcracker” as well as with Rudolf Nureyev in “Giselle”. She also has studied with dance masters Dr. Henry LeTang, Scott Benson, Judy Ann Bassing and Savion Glover. For several years she has taught tap, jazz, ballet, and acrobatics to 3 - 60 year olds. She has recently returned to school, at Lees-McRae College, to obtain her degree in Performing Arts Studies with an emphasis in Dance. While there, she has choreographed several dance pieces, as well as being the choreographer or co-choreographer for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!”, “The Arabian Nights” and “Swing! The Musical”. Mindi has also performed in several productions at Lees-McRae College. Currently living in Banner Elk, NC, she is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a not-for-profit educational living history group studying and recreating the Renaissance and Middle Ages.
Our CAPA Camp staff and guest artists are carefully chosen, well qualified, and have extensive experience in working with youth. The staff to camper ratio is 1:5. The staff embodies the values and mission of CAPA, keeping youth at the core of its program.
